Default Finally got one - '99 Alpine/Dove Stock

Hey fellas!

So, finally pulled the trigger on an E36. Found it in Tennessee, worked with the seller for close to 3 weeks, got it inspected by an independent shop, shipped it out here (flamesuit on), and took delivery of it yesterday. Yes, sight unseen, but I'm very glad to say it's all I was hoping for and it's in pretty great shape. *If you weren't following my past threads, I didn't have the PTO balance to make it out there and drive it back, so shipping was my best option.

Some of you may wonder why I shipped a not-so-rare color combo. Simply put, it was worth it to me. In my searching, I've found it pretty hard to find an unmolested E36, in Alpine, with relatively low mileage. California is filled with a lot of cars that are modified, even tastefully, but I wanted one bone-stock. When I saw this one, I weighed out the costs and decided it was what I wanted.

Seller and I used an online Escrow service (Escrow.com) to secure the transaction, which was actually a pleasant experience. Shipped through Golden Key Express, which was fantastic. Al, the driver, sent me pics via text through its 4-day journey and was an all-around awesome guy. Highly, highly recommend them.

Okay, let's get to specs on the car.

1999 BMW M3 - Alpine/Dove
Prod date: 1/16/1999
111k
5spd
Clean Title (matching VINs throughout, never been hit)
Rust-free
Stock
PO had rear-suspension refresh and most of the cooling system refresh done (just need radiator and water pump)
New headliner
Interior in great condition

Though I admit picking this car up was a gamble, it's truly in fine shape and I'm ecstatic. I plan on keeping it stock and just maintaining it. Upcoming maintenance includes oil change, radiator and water pump, checking on OPN, and transmission/motor mounts. Getting a cover, Bentley manual, hopefully a GROM iPod adapter, and an alarm soon. Other than that, just loving it. My daily commute is about 5min, so I'll DD it and just enjoy it.

Only present problem is what seems to be the heater control valve. Driver-side feet are on-fire after freeway cruising. From what I've searched through, doesn't look like a fun time Feel free to hit me up with pointers. Oh, and the LR contour is missing its roundel. I had one on its way from Turner, which was supposed to come Friday, but tracking indicated a "Mechanical failure occurred" that morning. UPS truck shoulda done its preventative maintenance... Should be getting to me tomorrow.

I'm cleaning her up today (nothing too involved, just a thorough wash), so I'll post more pics when she's clean.

Congrats on the new car! Love Alpine, hate dove though. Make sure to give that interior a good cleaning here and there or it will turn ugly quick.

Looks great man. Nothing wrong with shipping a clean car. Alpine with contours FTW!

Thanks Kevin! Yea, Schwartz was my preference, but this Dove looks flawless and I'll make sure to keep it that way.
