Default Groaning from FL corner after installing PSS10 coilovers w/ Turner camber plates?

I swapped my ~30k mile PSS10s with Turner camber plates from one car to another earlier this week. There were no abnormal noises when they were on the donor car, and the recipient did not make any noises when the old suspension setup was installed. I did not change anything else on the cars or coilovers while doing the swap. I’m using stock sway bar and endlinks, and the car has 69k miles on it so I don’t think the ball joints on the control arm would be going bad.

I can hear and feel the groaning noise while at a standstill and moving at slow speeds. Feel comes from the steering wheel and the dead pedal. It also seems to be isolated to the front left area, a bit louder when hood is open so my guess was that the camber plate is causing it. TMS does not offer a rebuild/service kit, so I’m considering new camber plates at this moment (Vorshlag?). Does anyone have other suggestions? I tried searching, but didn’t find a definite answer.

Hard to hear in this video, but it’s constantly making that noise.

So took them off and moved them right to another car? Or did you break them down at all? Sounds like binding from a missing or misplaced washer or sleeve somewhere.

Second video almost sounds like the steering coupler going bad.

Correct, direct swap with no breakdown.

At this point, I’m thinking about sending the PSS10s off to FCM for revalving to suit flat ride, and swap camber plates at the same time. If the sound was caused by incorrect assembly, I probably would’ve heard it in the 25k miles I’ve driven my other car, but I never experienced noise up front.

I wouldn’t expect it to go bad at that mileage. At 79k miles, the one on my other car was fine when I removed it.

Try raise the strut all the way up w a jack and re-tighten /torque your strut nuts up top.

My PSS9 would rattle like crazy unless there was marine grease between the perches and spring.

I tried to do that yesterday, but I don’t have a socket for that large of a nut in my tool bag. Will try to find one to borrow.

I didn’t have any rattling, but I should probably do that. I figured replacing the spring perch/bearing and the urethane bushing would be a good first step, but I need to find someone to talk to at Turner who understands that replacement bushings are offered.
