I did like them calling the CSL’s gearbox utter garbage

Mostly because I have one, of course

But otherwise...

- weighs ~125 lbs less
- sounds better w/the N55, despite having to live without an “S” designated motor ... regardless, lack of straight line speed is not an M2’s problem
- subjectively, looks... I think the M2C looks “good” but hate the low hanging muffler a la the E90 M3s (and I’m not yet a fan of the joined kidneys up front)
- although the M3 seats look awesome, I prefer the functionality of the OG M2 seats (I have plenty of time in the M3 seats in an M3)

Biggest thing to me though is the weight. That said, perhaps some of it is necessary to really get an M2 “track ready” with respect to cooling... I hope to find out this fall finally.

The base M2 seems to be as good if not better than the Competition in many ways. The fact you can get a base M2 with barely any miles at all for under $50k seals the deal, imo. Plus, everything jph said.

Now, is it one of the best M cars ever? Not sure. Seems like a lot of good cars left off this video. It's like they just picked the OG M3, the best of the newest M cars and went in the dead center for the CSL.

Yeah once I heard the guy say he didn't like the e36 I stopped watching because his opinion is stupid.

+1. He lost all credibility on the E36 comment.

I have never driven one but all the people I know IRL that religiously track and teach driving swear by it. Great cost to performance.

There has been one here in Miami for probably a decade, so it can be done. Thread on it is likely here somewhere.
