Same happened to me last year and at only 12k miles no less. Leaked on my upper steering wheel trim and airbag. Completely ruined both parts, along with the mirror, obviously, being completely shot.

BMWNA covered everything for me thankfully. Didn't pay a dime.

Happened to me a few weeks ago, the new style from sybesmas is gel based so no more leaking!

Also went with Sybesma's. It's been 2 years and no issues with the replaced mirror.

Fixed mine last year from Sybesmas as well. My car is always garage.

I would just get this done as a maintenance item so you won't have to sweat it when the acid leaks out. It cost about the same as an oil change (parts only).
