Default BBK Question

I’m looking to get a set of front Porsche calipers and use RallyRoad brackets. It is my understanding that Cayman/Boxster/Cayman all use the same Brembo casting - but I am seeing various part numbers.

According RR, my part numbers of interest are :

996.351.425 (driver side)
996.351.426 (passenger side)

But I’m also seeing the following part numbers, for the same year range:

986.351.421 (driver side)
986.351.422 (passenger side)

___________________________

Will the brackets work for both? Can someone please help clarify? Should I not worry about part numbers as long the cars were made within a certain year range?

Default Re: BBK Question

The 996-designated part no's are the correct callipers (refer to rally road's site)

The 986-designated calipers (I believe, someone correct me if I'm off here) are off the standard boxster. The Boxster S had the 996 calipers.

You'll have a bad time if you get the second set you referenced.

Default BBK Question

Calipers can come from different Porsche models. Do not use the 986 #.

Front Left: 996.351.425
Front Right: 996.351.426
Rear Left: 996.352.421
Rear Right: 996.352.422

Default Re: BBK Question

the 986 calipers are the wrong one, they are small and pretty much has same size all the way around from front calipers to back, from what I can see (yes... i've made the mistake of getting them so down 280bucks -_-) they are pretty identical to the rear calipers of the 996.. imma take a picture of them side by side w/ the 996 rear calipers (currently on stand by on doing this project until I figure out the P0014 code dilema I am having). and they use the same pads as well.
