I see it now in pictures of the csl. Cant say I’ve ever noticed it before looking at many pictures of those. Looks sharp on Laguna and estoril

Yep, the finish is nothing like the one on my benz. Will snap some pictures of the chips on my ZHP's trim later.

I wrapped my 330i B pillars in gloss vinyl. The orange peel was horrible. It also was not nearly as glossy as my black paint.

Not sure if it has gotten better in the last couple years.

I am in the middle of this mod myself. I purchased the gloss shadow line side frame finisher and the weatherstrip that goes on the doors (between A and B pillars) off a salvager on eBay. Word of caution is that the rubber on Hofmeister kink will most likely be deteriorated, so get close up photos of this area if you can.

For the weatherstrip between the B and C pillar, I bought new from ECS (~$120 per side, about 3x the price of the non-gloss shadownline!) since these are adhesive backed (and a b&^%h to clean the old adhesive off). Most people would never notice the mod, but that's not the point, right? Good luck finding a set for your M3!

I just treat my stock trim with aerospace 303 after every wash which is bi-weekly and the trim has a very deep look and a bit of a sheen to it.

Why not try to wet sand them, polish to gloss
Or paint them? I believe it would be cheaper

That trim piece is around $450 a side at dealer cost, even for just standard black. $1200 for a pair sounds about right for MSRP. I wanted to replace mine because the rubber is cracking and coming off on both sides.... but I didn't want to drop $1000.
