Please hook it up to a code reader (you can try autozone, etc for free) and see what codes tell you the problem is, that could guide you.

I forget the program name and remember looking everywhere for it online because I believe it runs a test on the S54 vanos
Oh nice! I actually work near Fairlawn. I would check to see if you have any codes first. Then you can have a VANOS test done at an indy or maybe the dealer. If you decide you want to throw it on the dyno, head over to Back Street Performance in Medina. $75 for 3 pulls on their dyno jet. That's where I had mine done.

Sounds like yes, it's down on power.

Full bolt-ons with airbox/cams etc.. I can believe, but overall not many N/A M3s will be keeping up against newer 5.0s ... They put down 380+whp and trap 113-115+ mph bone stock; and the new '18s are faster.

6MT GT
C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 4.3 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 9.7 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 16.4 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 23.0 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 5.1 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 10.7 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 9.6 sec
Standing -mile: 12.6 sec @ 115 mph

Clearly the Mustang is faster, but it's not stupidly faster-- C/D got 0-60 in 4.5 and the quarter in 13.1 @107 of of the stock e46 m3 coupe back in 2001. Don't forget your vert viewed is skewed by putting down acceleration numbers closer to the 330i coupe than the M3 coupe

The electric-blue M3 also showed great grip, managing 0.87 g on the skidpad and stopping from 70 mph in 161 feet. Not bad for a car that can hold four adults and a decent load of luggage.

That's fair. Not a big difference at lower speeds, but 107 vs 115 trap is a pretty notable difference in top end power. What do bolt-on N/A M3s trap?

Just checked my codes using BMWlogger they are as follows

79 - Exhaust Gas Temp
105- Engine coolant Temperature Implausible
38 - Lambda Sensor Heater pre cat bank 2
39 - Lambda Sensor Heater pre cat Bank 1

I run a European exhaust manifold without cats.

Also had my car at the dealership about a month ago. They did service 1 and didn't say anything to me but idk how good the tecs are there.
