Is this true?

I originally thought this unit would at least support bluetooth with Iphone, but if it can't charge my phone that might be a game changer.

I'm not sure about the charging but even on my note 8 the charge rate threw the USB is slow as shit I think it's like .5 amp or 1 amp charge current, I dont see why the blue tooth doesn't work but yet again apple products always want to be different lol

I have the latest Dynavin in my daily - a 2004 ZHP sedan.

Pluses -
OEM look and feel
WiFi
Cell
Google Maps etc
Plethora of Apps

Minuses -
CPU is weak, I get spotty playback via BT if the unit is doing anything else. In their defense they did provide a FW upgrade to try and fix the issue. Apple CarPlay is so slow it is all but worthless

BT drops on occasion, not as bad since the last update.

Will not charge my IPhone X but will maintain battery %

Contacted customer support for the Eonon unit and they say the iphone can be bluetooth and usb charged. Thanks for your input though!

He did have me aware I may need an extension depending on my radio model? I did some research and it looks like the extension cable is only needed if you have the oem navigation unit.

I have the eonon and I live in Cupertino. I can let you check it out if you want. Install wasnt too hard, a good time to replace plastic tabs that are most likely brittle already.

If anyone can answer questions on the Dynavin N7 or which ever is the latest one.

A) Can you play Bluetooth wirelessly? (Sounds stupid but I heard that it has to be plugged in.) specifically with Spotify, Pandora, etc. or does it have to be plugged in.

B) Is the sound quality much improved over stock?

The eonon and xotrons are both made by the same manufacturer. They Hui Fei units from china. There's a huge community for supporting these units on XDA Developers. Quality can be hit and miss.. I have a older Eonon on my M3 and it works ok but there's this slight buzzing sound always coming from the speakers when the unit isnt playing music.

I also bought another "brand" unit for my convertible. Its a "Hizpo" but still the same Hui Fei unit. Everything works great on that thing except bluetooth music streaming..

I guess my point with the Eonon and Xtrons units is it can be hit and miss. Theyre very cheaply made.

Here's a FAQ on these units (Not for Avin or Dynavin, those are their own units):

https://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Hui_Fei_Type

Here's a link to a forum where these chinese units are supported by the community:

Thanks makes sense.

Bought the eonon unit (9150A model), but can't install due to a small roadblock. Previous owner had a radar detector unit installed that sits in the sunglass holder (supposed to be removed in order to have HVAC control bar relocated). Long story short, I can't follow the wire to the source since it goes deeper behind more interior trims I'm not comfortable removing.

Also, my fault for not researching into further but I searched online and found that we'll need a HVAC relocation kit? I had hoped the HVAC controls could just be relocated to the sunglass storage pocket that we'd remove, but that assume it was the same size lol guess not.
