Default BBS CH curb repair and respray

I'ma use this post to document how "I" chose to repair minor curb rash from the previous owner.

My car is not a show car, instead a fair weather daily driver. It's never seen snow and I plan to keep it that way.

I don't have true "before" pics, but it wasn't that bad. However, curbed black wheels stick out. Since my front end is getting a paint refresh, I took this time to refinish my wheels.

This first four pics are before any mechanical sanding had been performed. I used strips of 120 grit on any and all wheels that had scratched or obvious rash.

Then I got my trusty angle grinder and attached an 80 grit flap disc to tackle the big spots.

I follower up with 400 and 800 grit to remove sanding marks.

Again these aren't show wheels, so they still aren't "perfect", but they're close enough for me!

I'll hit them with a scotch Brite to scuff them up before repainting a different color.

You do, you just don't know it until you try. First time for me doing it and it's going pretty well, I think.

Good job,

But alternative you can buy the BBS rim protector for the ch/ch-r, this part is original in this models.

I have this in my bbs ch-r, if I damage, only need change the rim protector.

Ive never liked the look of the rim protector. Besides, the previous owner already curbed them...so a rim protector wasnt going to fix or do anything for them at this point.

Right now Im waiting on the weather to break so I can give them one last cleaning and start throwing paint on them. Midwest weather is ridiculous. Sunday it was sleeting and 31. Today it's raining with a high of 71.

So here's a few pics of the progress so far...

Still needs to be tacked and cleared. I'll have sunlight photos tomorrow.

Did you fill anything or just remove material?

I removed the metal and blended to the surrounding areas.
