Is there any reason why this wouldn't work on the inner door arm rest pieces as well? Looks great OP.

Time will tell. I just painted mine. Bottom is the painted one and top is the other side obviously not done yet. Paint matches really well I think.

Looks great to me. Thanks for posting this DIY it's probably my next project. How long did it take to dry between coats? And also what is the purpose of wet sanding?

Just 5 minutes between coats - simple really. Wet sanding removes the old paint and puts micro scratches in the surface so the new paint can adhere properly.

This is awesome. I tried doing mine in gloss black, and it looks good from some distance, but shows every imperfection up close, not to mention the orange peel. Think I'll have to do this instead.

Can anyone chime in on what grit to use for wetsanding? I believe its a high grit but I'm not sure.

My shopping list is:

1. Simple green
2. Scotchbright
3. Acetone
4. Krylon matte finish
5. sandpaper (grit)
6. Duplicolor perfect match (Medium gray Metallic)

I used 800, 1500, and 2000 grit sandpaper on mine, which I think is plenty smooth. Can be found at Walmart, 3m wet or dry. I also had some lower grit stuff to take off the stock finish.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I'll post pictures up as I tackle this.

No problem, and please do! I think I might have to redo mine in this finish over the weekend
