Default Free M3?! I'll take it!

Iím gonna be ordering a steering rack this weekend but Iím still not 100% sure about which exact one I should get. Iíve read that all non-M Z racks are the same? Is this true? Does it matter which Z3 rack I get? Iím looking at a Ď96 Z3 1.9L rack

The one from the 4 cylinder is the fast ratio one you want. That one should be it.

Used my air compressor to loosen out all the dirt and dust, hit it with the vac, and cleaned it up with some carpet cleaner! It almost looks new! Putting back all the trim pieces now...

I havenít sorted it out yet... Iím debating on just buying the cats alone and having an exhaust shop fab up an exhaust for me or going to a junkyard to find a decent one. I just need it to pass smog and then Iíll put in an aftermarket exhaust

I honestly would hold off on getting that aftermarket exhaust. Dude, you have a gazzilion other things to address and you are thinking about getting exhaust?

Welcome. Was a little skeptical after reading the first post - immediate thought was track car like others said. But watching your vid and seeing updated pics seems like you're taking the right steps to get it DD ready. Really cool. If you're OK getting it 80% (solid mechanical, decent inside, not crap outside) I bet you get out for $5-6k DIY depending on the cats - dont be a d-bag and go catless in socal. If you go full restore, easily another $10k+. I'd be keeping my eyes open for a set of DS2 wheels. Decent set for $500. post more vids.
