Default SMG to Manual coding near chicago

Hello,

I have just swapped my '03 M3 to manual and need to get it coded. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for someone here in the Chicago area?

Thanks!

didn't see any posts here about your process to convert so I assume you had a shop do it? if you did diy or have a shop do it, did you find the power to be down?

what was your swap conversion experience like?

Talk to Alex at Performance Eurowerks in Buffalo Grove. It's easiest to get a hold of him by just dropping by the shop.

You could also try Brian at EP3 in St Charles. Super responsive via Facebook messenger.

I just recently completed my conversion. If you have access to NCS Expert and WinKFP, takes less then 10 minutes to do the coding.

Buy this tool from Martyn which is only about $20. It has a clean GUI and allows you to change a lot of general parameters without having to get into the nitty gritty of NCS Expert and WinkFP. All you have to do is select "Manual Transmission" from a drop down menu then flash it over. It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes to read, modify, and flash everything. Also, Martyn has really great customer service as he has always replied within a few hours to any of my questions. Here is his thread: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=508807 . Good luck!

^ wow that looks like a game changer -- was getting worried about figuring out the whole coding section of my planned 6MT swap, seemed like a pretty big headache!

Thank you so much for all the responses! I have already been in contact with Alex, but he has not gotten back to me; it is great to know that the best way to get to him is by dropping by! I had already used the ECUWorks tool, but it did not fix the manual swap coding. Also, I did the swap by myself.
