Most epoxies you see are not good with heat and those that are require post heat treatment

So I found an epoxy that will cure at room temp and have a glass transition temp of 120C+
https://www.masterbond.com/techtips/...temperature-tg
I think I'll go with that.
I might use an old oven as an autoclave too

Sometimes, it is about the journey and not the destination. I totally understand you.

Sorry brother Hassan, just seeing this thread-been down n' out w/the flu bug for like the past week. For some of us car fanatics, it's just about the tinkering & the hot-rodding aspect, and not necessarily all about the final product sometimes. GL w/the project bro-I think you can pull it off!

Have you made anything else using CF? Something fairly simple in design like a CSL splitter. The CSL airbox is a complex piece that requires multiple parts from two or more molds to put together.

While I like DIYing and finding custom solutions to things once in a while, I think you are underestimating the difficulty and time involved in making a reasonable looking and functional CSL airbox. Some aftermarket CSL airbox manufactures didn't get it right until they made 3 revisions and were on their 30th airbox.

I think you’re missing the point when he said this is a pass time for him. In other words, he’s doing it for fun! So whether he fails or succeeds is not the point.

I got that. He must have a lot of time on his hands then. There are a few things to consider even it is for fun and CF is not a fun material to work since almost all the materials that are used to make CF parts are not good for one's health.

I'm fully aware of all of the above, and have taken precautions. I am a engineer by profession, though not a composites engineer, I think I have a shot. Yes I am doing this for fun, sharing with my forum buddies my success or failures. If it works it works, else no fu*ks given. No I do not have a lot of time. People who know, know how little time I have for anything other than work. Between my work and family obligations (father of two kids- 5 years and .65 years) time is exactly what I'm short on and not on solutions, nor determination. What I'm missing is the source of your grief sir. If you don't approve you can see yourself off this thread.
Good day

No problem. I just don't see why you would start with a complex piece like an airbox. I don't think it is a realistic goal. Most people pick a simple piece with minimal shapes to understand how the material works and the process. That way they don't use excess material since CF isn't cheap.

I feel like this project is on par with someone with no welding experience building a set of custom stepped headers as their first project. "Have to learn to walk before you can run" I believe is the saying.

GL. I don't think it is impossible, but I would take a different approach.
