Great deal! I'm the only one here who'll say that, because SMG verts are not in vogue. But consensus be damned, that sounds like a great car for the money.

Cheers,

I waited months for this one and I feel like I got a diamond in the rough, but maybe everyone feels that way lol.

Are you the Buyer or Seller?: Buyer
Model Year: 2003.5
Mileage: 114k
Coupe or Convertible?: Coupe
Exterior Color: Sterling Grey
Interior Color: Black
Manual or SMG?: Manual
Major Options: Sunroof DELETE (Slick top), Manual Seats, Xenons, leather
Under Warranty? (if yes, please indicate type and remaining coverage): No
Overall Condition (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor): Excellent to Good, needs some TLC on the exterior, the rest of the car both cosmetically and mechanically is easily a 9. Shocking. Passed a BMW PPI with flying colors.
Any unusual items that affected value?: no, all service records from new were included and the car is 99% stock aside from a shift knob and painted reflectors.
With Whom Did You Complete the Sale? (Private, BMW Dealership, Other Dealership, Auction): Private
How Did You Find Seller/Buyer?: This forum, car was not listed for sale, I posted a wanted ad and seller PMed me thinking about selling.

Sale Location (City, State):Purchased from a private party in N. Cal, I am in Tampa FL
Sale Date (Month, Year): 03/2018
Seller Asking Price: $18,000
Final Sales Price (amount seller received): $17,000
Est. Published Value, if known (KBB, Edmunds TMV, NADA, etc.): $
Other Comments (amount of time in the market, successful negotiating tactics, words of advice, pictures, etc.): Seller was super helpful and honest, helps when doing business site unseen. I always recommend a BMW PPI, in fact i dont think a site unseen transaction should be allowed to take place without one.

Are you the Buyer or Seller?: Buyer
Model Year: 2002
Mileage: 131,000
Coupe or Convertible?: Coupe
Exterior Color: Silver Grey Metallic (A08)
Interior Color: Black
Manual or SMG?: Manual
Major Options: Xenons....pretty barebones. Slicktop too.
Under Warranty? (if yes, please indicate type and remaining coverage): No
Overall Condition (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor): Good/Fair
Any unusual items that affected value?: Depends on how you define it but sure. Car needed a new transmission when seller picked it up.
With Whom Did You Complete the Sale? (Private, BMW Dealership, Other Dealership, Auction): Private
How Did You Find Seller/Buyer?: FB BMW Group

Sale Location (City, State): Albany, NY
Sale Date (Month, Year): 3/2018
Seller Asking Price: $11,100
Final Sales Price (amount seller received): $11,100
Est. Published Value, if known (KBB, Edmunds TMV, NADA, etc.): $8,500
Other Comments: Been talking with the seller for MONTHS about the car...he picked it up to flip it specifically; he’s a mechanic at a local foreign auto shop. Was grinding in 4th gear so he threw in a new transmission, clutch, flywheel, and starter. Also put in new xenons, new driver seat motor, new O2 sensor post cat, new wheel bearing, and newer coilovers. Carfax showed “structural damage,” but a PPI at the local BMW dealership proved that to be false; zero evidence of frame straightening or bodywork/other accidents (I was in the bay when the tech was going over the car to verify all this). Going to be a track car/weekend car, so for his asking price I figured it was a decent deal. I’ve been salivating over an M3 but $20,000 just wasn’t/isn’t the budget ESP since I won’t drive it a ton. Now I have one!!!
