Cc....did you ever do this DIY yet? Id really like to do this and add the radio functions to my zcp...I already have the steering wheel radio controls and the E39 wiper stalk. But there is bits and pieces of this DIY all over the forum. Im trying to find a clean DIY with all the information in one spot.

The missing pieces probably lie in the wiring harness directions you get when you purchase the harness. It has what you need to do to connect it to the wheel and how to integrate it into the car's electronics.

Yes, that is the correct ECS part number for the wiring harness. I used that harness the other weekend to update my ZCP with radio and cruise control buttons.

BTW, I also did the E39 wiper stalk. You will want to remove the steering wheel to get to the wiper stalk. I used that opportunity to do a full cleaning and "de-fuzzing" of the alcantara steering wheel at the kitchen table.

After removing the track mode wire from the steering wheel connector (in order to place the wire from the ES161712 harness into positions 8, 9 & 10, per the instructions) I was able to remove the track mode wire further from the wiring loom and get enough wire to reach across the column to the wiper connector. You will see when comparing the two wiper stalks where the track mode wire needs to go in the wiper connector.

Good luck!
