Default E36 Euro S50 Swap

Hi,
I have a 92 E36 with S50B32 (so i think is OBD1) and I am looking at a Euro S50 Swap.
I have search through the forum but couldnt find much information on the documented swap process.
Does anyone know a link where the swap process is documented?

Importantly, I am wondering if the current USDM wiring harness will work with the Euro engine? If not, what can i do?

if anyone has done the swap, can you please get in touch with me at nismo502@hotmail.com? i will be most grateful.

Couldn't find? When I google S50B32 transplant I get tons of hits from M3forum and bf.com alone.

Hi @Nismo502 I believe you can change the wiring because is different engine sensors, ecu etc. I would like put a s50b30euro in my 323ti 1998 M52b25( aready have the engine s50euro) but I have dont find nothing about Electrical connection, fuse box and cluster. The mechanical swap is easy and have many information, but electrical I dont find. The m52 and s50US is similar

Which Euro S50 are you swapping? The 286 hp single vanos 3.0L or the 321 hp dual vanos 3.2L?

You have a 1992 E36 with S50B32 and USDM wiring harness. Is that a Euro car with a US harness or a US car with a 96-99 US 240 hp single vanos 3.2L swapped in place of the original 189 hp non vanos 2.5L?

Yes there are tons of hits. But I couldn't find a writeup or technical details of how things are done.

it is a euro E36 that started as a 320i with a usdm S50 swap done by the previous owner. I understand it still has the original harness and the ecu solution was done by tuner chip.

Yes I agree with you. The wiring and ECU part is the part i am having questions. And no one has documented or talk about their swap process in details.
And this has been done by many many people before......

I have read details before, not for euro cars but for US cars, on Bimmerforums years ago. Maybe 10 years ago. In the last few years, S54 swaps have been more popular.

Then it's either S50B30US you have now or S52B32.

Engnine loom is definitely not the same with different DME, double vanos, etc.
