42, Married, 3 children, 1 God (and it's not BMW). Director of Engineering and Design for a smaller division of a national Lighting manufacturer.

Always dreamed of restoring my own car. Save some major cash, have it done the way I want it, see how good of job I can do, and have fun doing it all.

So I finally did it, and so far so good. I have a '98 Dakar Coupe that was in a roll-over accident. I have all the part replacments complete, and 95% of the bodywork. Now I'm heavy into paint preping.

Should have it done in a month or so. I'll post pics of the entire job then, if all goes well..

So far this site has been extremely helpful in many ways. Thanks!

Where in so cal are you, that is really cool, good luck on your restoration. FYI, I have some OEM tail lights (not Euro), and a hood that I could let go for really cheap, deliverd too, if you aren't too far away from Glendale/Pasadena area.
