Default INPA Software on Windows 7+

I ordered a K+CAN usb cable off ebay that came with INPA software. I need to shutoff an airbag lift after replacing one post accident. I have 2 laptops, one is a macbook and the other runs 64-bit Windows 7.

For obvious reasons, only a windows laptop can run the software. Unfortunately, all the DIY's and how to's are dated/dead links. I have found some HELPFUL sources, however they explained the install on a windows XP interface. I keep getting failure messages at the end of the install.

Can anyone who uses this program on a newer operating system chime in with any advice? I am getting frustrated as this is the only thing preventing me from passing inspection and getting the car back on the road.

Should work fine. You just need the newest version.

Try E90post in the coding section - it might be more active than here, that's where I got my current version of BMW tools.

I'm running my software on both Windows 7 and Windows 10. Are you running everything in compatibility mode?

Believe it or not, INPA will work on both a PC laptop and a Macbook laptop. I have installed INPA, DIS/GT1, TIS, NCSExpert, Winkfp, Progmann, Navcoder, PAsoft, ect. on both a Windows 10 laptop and my Macbook Pro using Parallels with Windows XP on a 'virtual machine'. I can click on a Windows based program while on OSX and it will instantly pop up, with the virtual machine running in the background, not unlike how any other app or new "window" instantly pops up. Parallels has such a stream-lined interface with OSX, that the experience seems more like both operating systems integrated with each other compared to a separate entity needing to be booted up on a virtual box. It does not feel like 2 separate operating systems running. It's pretty great. I was going to purchase a cheap old windows based laptop/tablet, but now there is no need. In fact, oddly, Windows XP is easier to use, faster, much more integrated with OSX, and more native feeling than when I have used the same programs installed on Windows 10 with a Windows XP Virtual Machine. In the latter case, it literally did feel like 2 separate operating systems, with Windows XP in a much slower, completely separated and confined box, with no cross talk between the two operating systems (like how you would imagine a virtual machine to be).

Yeah i did have Inpa and dis/gt1 and ncsexpert running on a dedicated xp machine, and a windows 7 laptop on a virtual machine. Both hard discs have since given up, and i remember it took me forever to get them working. I think that was me due to following different guides on different sites. I had spent many many hours getting them both working, years ago, so just glad to have found an easy up to date guide, hopefully it will go well for me!
