Add a DRS system.

Why do you think that aero is holding you back? To be worried about this would mean that all other things are optimized. Adding extra mph on corner exit can reach huge benefits at the end of a straight because acceleration at higher speeds is significantly slower.

At PIR an E46 M3 can spend 20 seconds accelerating beyond 100MPH. This is roughly split to 12 seconds on the back and 8 seconds on the front straight. If I could reduce aero drag by 1 MPH for 20 seconds it would be a big gain, I'd be happy with .5 seconds for the entire lap (lol)

I've covered the fog light covers with cardboard and duct tape(the worlds cheapest CLS bumper, free ghetto mod) and be at PIR all day tomorrow. I'll post the findings. I'm using a Solo DL to record data.

Tape up everything up front. In between headlight and bumper, etc.

What sort of lap times are you currently running? Your biggest issues are going to be these two numbers

E46 M3 Cd: 0.32
E46 M3 Frontal Area: 23.5 ft^2

While you may have some small impact on drag, these are likely offset by a car with its windows down, traveling at a high rate of speed.

I'm to cover myself completely in tape to seal any seams.

1:31 consistent and 1:30 when the stars align. Those are inline with what other M3's are running with similar setups.

After 50 or so laps at PIR I would say closing off the fog inlets had no effect on my times. I ran the morning with them covered and took them off in the afternoon. Fast times were 1:31 which are consistent with my other track days.

Case closed
