Default Nav screen map not showing up

Has anyone had the problem where their map on the nav screen does not show up? This morning i went to drive the car and noticed the map is not showing up, it is just a grey-ish white blank screen. The navigation still seems to work and the location (altitude/longitude) information is still work when it is set to split screen, but the map side does not show the map (in either perspective, traveling direction, or pointing north). is this something wrong with the nav CD? or is the nav system busted?

most likely the actual nav unit is going bad. expensive issue to fix, so most people go with aftermarket head units like the dynavin one.

Hi,

I know this thread is an old thread but I having the same issue.
Map will not come up and shows blank screen.
Do I need to restart the car?
Is the Nav unit really going bad? Do I need to replace the unit in the back trunk?

If someone can chime in, would be appreciated so much.
