So just to confirm:

Even if your car came with BMW assist (SOS button on rear view mirror), and the car calls with a verizon answering machine coming up (you hear ringing in the doors and it stops your music), one still needs to buy the bluetooth module?

Default Re: Bluetooth Pairing Question

ok so while trying to pair an aftermarket visor mounted BT speaker my black berry found both the aftermarket and found the BMW. So i guess my car does have the blue tooth module and now i just need the code. I've read that you can find the code on the module in the trunk. Does anyone have a photo of what i should be looking for and / or how many digits the code is? I'd like to make the factory system work if possible.

Ok update. I searched ebay to figure out what I need to be looking for in the trunk and saw that the silver box in the trunk was the correct module, and the reason I couldn't find the code stickers is that they appear to be on the back side of a lot of the units on ebay. So I take my trunk back apart and remove the module and sure enough there are the stickers. So I took on and put it in the glove box and put the other one on the front side of the module. Put it all back together and my black berry curve paired right up. Oh one stupid thing I did is I thought the code was the long code after the BT: but that must be the module id or something the next line that says PK: and had a 4 digit code is the one that you need.

This is on an 05 vert with a build date of 10/04 just for reference.
