Default Tie Rods w/out removing wheel

I'm trying to replace my tie rods and I'm stuck on what appear to be overtorqued wheel bolts- of all things. Is it possible to replace the tie rods without removing the wheels?

Why take the wheels off at all? I attach long 3/4" pipe to the wheels and mark location of end of pipe on the floor. Then change tie rod. Just be aware that when you disconnect it, the wheel will want to swing around to full lock. Don't let it. Change tie rod and adjust so the pipe lines up with original floor mark. Alignment should be pretty good right there although it would be good to get a proper one done.

If your wheel lugs are truly over torqued, they could easily be yielded. Ask me how I know. If you lose a wheel on your car, its going to be bad for you and for everyone else unfortunate enough to be near you.

My suggestion is: get a bigger impact wrench, get the wheels off and replace the studs while you are there.
