Car is aligned and back on the road. It feels great. The GAS e90 monoball thrust arm bearings added zero determinable NHV over the X5 ones I was previously running. Car has... better steering feel than ever before (still no rack and pinion, still miles better than any EPS system I've yet experienced).

With all front end components replaced, the car feels pretty great in general-- no slop, no noise, no brake judder. Everything is as it should be

I've been driving the M3 wagon to work while this project was underway. I drove the M5 today (first time in a month). It was a strange experience-- kept thinking I was accidentally in 4th instead of 6th because of all the highway torque pull.

Also deleted my useless cupholders with the OE block off plate. Not sure if I'm going to make it matte black or leave it as it. It is not titan shadow, but it's not far off...

At the top of their game in that video.

Yeah... I don't know why BMW didn't do it in matte black, since every e39 is black there.

My sticking point on matte black is that it will not be 100% identical to the plastics immediately next to it.

Finally solved an airbag light I've been battling.

My seat occupancy sensor was getting flakey, so I disconnected the sensor and coded it off (the result of this is that the passenger airbag will go off in a crash with or without a passenger in the seat (whereas before it would only go off with a passenger in the seat), resulting in a more expensive repair, for those wondering the consequence of doing this).

Only, the write to the module didn't work out somehow (I've had this issue twice, ever, and both have been e39 airbag modules... no idea why. No issue with e46 airbag modules). So, I pulled another airbag module from the junk yard, sent it to terra and had him reviriginize it (and code it to have the seat occupancy sensor off, at the same time, so I wouldn't have to fight that again), and got around to installing to today.

Much better. I despise having any cluster lights on that don't indicate an actual issue!

Then OEM, or try to match the plastics next to it somehow, but that might take a lot of time/effort.

A large part of me thinks the e39 528i or 530i in manual is the best overall car ever offered by any car company
