Can anyone recommend a trusted independent shop in Westchester? I am looking for someone who will know, without being told, to only use 10w60 and I can trust to do a valve adjustment correctly without charging me dealership prices? My neighborhood guy is a great mechanic, but seems to be a bit over his head when working on my M3.

  • If you are wondering about whether or not to buy snow tires, please review the dozens of threads where people caused thousands of dollars of damage in a light snowfall at 10 mph.
  • If you are thinking about buying an M3 because they can now be found pre-owned fairly inexpensively, please review the threads explaining how expensive the maintenance is. Plan on spending $2,000 or more per year on routine maintenance.

I teach people how to do valve adjustments but if you would rather have someone do it in your garage feel free to send me a pm.

Thanks for the offer, but I am really just looking for a shop in the area that spends the majority of their time working on M3 and similar cars. The local guys in my area, who are very nice knowledgable guys, are uncomfortable working on my car (my guy was honest enough to say so). I could always go to the dealership, but I'd love to find someone to add to my address book who could service my M3 on a regular basis - I just don't have the time or interest to do this stuff myself.

Anyone know of a place that paints carbon fiber pieces? Looking to pick up the zshift diffuser and found out many shops don't paint on CF because of adherence issues. Preferably in NNJ.

I am a BMW certified mechanic but good luck on your search for a shop.

I need to get the subframe reinforcement done. I was inspecting the mount points, and I noticed a little crack about a quarter inch on the passenger front subframe mount location. Know any place I could go to get it fixed besides the dealership (which is looking like my only option)?

There is a group buy setup in this section with TKX. Whose done just about 30 subframe repairs along with the tms reinforcement plate install. But then again it'd probably be a 5-6 hour drive for you =/

At least you have Watkin in your backyard, lol.
