What's interesting though - the 1/4 mile times and speeds are shit - for the M3 at least. That car should be faster than a 7.1 GT3 by all measurable standards, however the 1/4 mile time it posted was more in line with an e46 M3. Meanwhile, the tesla, which boasts basically the same quarter mile time as the 7.1 GT3, was about 7 mph slower than at the 1/4 mile mark than a 7.1 would be.

This information, coupled with the significantly faster lap time, makes me wonder if the conditions of this test were those that would favor an AWD vehicle over a RWD. The photos make everything look dry and warm, but I don't believe they notate the conditions on actual test day. Could also be a tire difference between the two cars - or the M3's tires were shredded coming into the test.

The M3 trap speed was where it should be, just the ET was off. The article said they were having traction issues with it. Should have ranked that as a tie imo since the M3 trap speed indicates it would probably beat the Tesla in most acceleration tests from a roll.

Road course test was surprising but the Tesla has a deceptively low center of gravity.

Do you guys notice that the Tesla owners abbreviate their Model 3’s and call them M3’s? It’s super irritating

Haha, yeah. Cocky little f*cks arent they?
Though, that is fords fault for not letting tesla use the model E designation.
The worst part is they couldnt make it look the least bit exciting inside or out. The equivelent of a fast refridgerator.
