Default Bumper Decision - CSL or Euro w/Lip?

I am about to do some body work to the car and am trying to decide on my front bumper solution. I'm in the process of doing a CSL airbox conversion. Should I go with a SGT replica CSL bumper or OEM Euro with the SGT HRTG replica lip?

Also, who makes the best replica CSL bumper? Is SGT the go-to?

Any input is appreciated!

Well considering you can get a SGT CSL front bumper for 195 bucks compared to the 500+ for an OE Euro it's a pretty clear answer.

eBay.

Fitment is most important to me, so the question is how well does an ebay SGT CSL bumper fit? I've heard horror stories...

there was a thread from earlier this summer about the SGT bumper and whether it was just a repackaged AIT Racing bumper or not.

http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=599868

I have not done business with SGT before but based on alot of the recent feedback from the community I am staying away for now.

Personally I don't feel there is a good enough replica to justify all the work needed to get the bumper to fit (losing your kevlar support, new bumper shocks and washer tank, etc.) If it's not OE (or possibly a Vorsteiner if one pops up) i'm not going to give up all that and have a crappy fitting bumper in the end.

I'm currently working on fitting all the OE CSL ducting behind my standard bumper, and it's going relatively well so far. I also have a one-piece CF lip i'll put on in the meantime for some effects up front. Should look pretty good.

Thanks for chiming in! I was going to reach out to you.

Yeah, I was afraid of that...I've heard SGT is going through some issues. I think I'll stick with OEM euro, but if I do that, I would really like a front lip to compliment it.

Do the SGT HRTG front lips have the same fitment issues as the bumpers? I'm also considering the VRS front lip on iND's website.

sure thing.

I haven't specifically seen anyone run their HRTG lip (or the VRS lip) but I know quite a few folks run their CF one-piece lip and are generally happy with fitment.

https://statusgruppe.com/products/bm...nt-lip-spoiler

I was able to source basically the same lip for about 75% the cost and fitment looks like it'll be pretty good based on a quick test fit.

For something that's going to inevitably get damaged on the street and track I'm not too concerned about 100% perfect fitment since i'll likely have to replace it down the road anyway. I'd care way more about bumper fitment though.

Go oem euro but with no lip. These slap on lips look funky, makes front end look too bulky and square.

I have Sgt bumper, fitment is about 95% with some work from bodyshop. If you can buy these from eBay for cheaper go for it. I don’t suggest doing business with Sgt.

This.

I have had all three variations on my two Jet Black cars. Either go CSL or stock. Stick on lips are awful even everyone who saw mine with it (from previous owner) hated it.

Most aftermarket CSL bumpers don't seem to fit so well, I would probably just go euro unless you can swing OEM CSL

Eagerly awaiting gabylonfive's feedback on running CSL airbox ducting to OEM bumper, I will be in same boat soon.
