I have came to the conclusion that my vanos problem is a weak oil pump, that its not getting enough oil to it. I have replaced every component in the vanos and still the same pressures. I haven't yet oil pressure test the engine, but I want to have an oil pump at hand just in case

Can remove the oil pump piston, double check it hasn't cracked the housing internally. This WILL create a low pressure scenario.

Just be sure to snag a replacement o-ring to put it back together($7).

This is common on used/abused oil pumps from the early years, thus, the revision made to the S54 oil pumps. Either way, have a cpl of low mileage oil pumps that have been fully inspected, if still needing one.
