I'm removing my SMG transmission and I got stuck.
I pried out the bell housing by about 10mm from the engine and can rotate it 5 degrees back and forth. However, it's somehow stuck and won't move any further. Is the input shaft stuck in the pilot bearing or in the clutch disk ?? Any suggestions will be appreciated ! Paul |

Yeah, that one is out. It popped off the dowels and I can rotate it back and forth a bit, so I doubt it's hanging on some bolt. I'm thinking about remounting the clutch slave cylinder, then let the SMG push the clutch down for me....

Thank you for this DIY...
For anyone else who may be struggling to get the actuator rod dowel pin back in, I had to put a small screwdriver in the hole in the center of the actuator rod and rotate it a few degrees counter clockwise (it should only go one direction) in order for the hole to line up. The pin actually goes in rather smoothly after doing this...if you are really having to wedge/smack it back in, then the hole is not lined up so stop.

Anyone know where to get the flywheel holder tool? I have been searching on ebay, turner, tischer, real oem and ecs. Ecs has a porsche holder; will this one work?

Flywheel holder? Are you talking about the clutch alignment tool?
