I don't understand why you would even post that in here. The reason for this thread is to compare CB to JB, not to discuss how much you dislike CB.....

Carbon is a very deep metallic blue as seen in the photos - looks dark blue in the day, black at night. Jet black is a flat color. Looks great when really clean, but very easy to see swirls and scratches (both are bad, but JB is a lot worse than CB).

Jet black > carbon black x1000

Just nice deep glossy non-metallic black

It's a ***** to keep clean though.

Unfortunately, this thread, so far, has been sinking into a p*ssing match.
Both are great colors, and maybe another way you can decide is to consider non-metallic vs metallic colors.

Some examples.

Non-metallic
Jet Black
Alpine White
Imola Red
Laguna Seca Blue

Metallic
Carbon Black
Steel Gray
Silver Gray
Titanium Silver
Oxford Green

There are lots of pics in M3Forum, Bimmerforums, E46Fanatics, to name a few.
When you do searches for the colors you're interested in, you'll get plenty of pics for comparison.

I agree. Color truly comes out after a nice detail.

First time I saw CB in person I knew thats the color I wanted (never owned a dark colored car before). CB/black is beautiful when clean but it's a b!tch to keep clean. If you don't have a garage or don't like washing your car often, I suggest another color.

My '00 328I was Jest black and My M3 now is Carbon Black and the Carbon is bar far a nicer color. I do detail work and have had both clean, they are hard to keep that way, but would choose CB in a heart beat
