So you think it was easier reading the 30 pages of stuff on the internet, than to perform a basic visual inspection of the system and locate the problem?

To see all possible things that could break. Its my first m3, my first "automatic" car and I'm obviously not as good of a mechanics or internet troll like you are.
I've heard some bad things about m3 forums and here's my first taste. Good day

Are you sure that mounting it vertically is not a problem?
I'm going to do this soon and was thinking I should keep the alignment as stock.

Thanks

I've moved mine and it makes no difference whatsoever with regards to the alignment. I actually highly recommend changing the alignment because everything is accessible from the top except the accumulator.

Does the relocation perform better? I know we think heat kills the pump and moving it from the heat should help the pump last longer. I'm trying to figure out if (1) a cooler pump actually works better in the interim -- quicker shifts, better line pressure, etc.; and (2) if any long-ago relocations actually helped the pump last longer.

Some people view these pumps like brakes -- use over time kills them, heat or no heat.

Thoughtful insights?
