This is truely the best we can hope for from a sporty German Lexus. I'm sure it's good fun, it's just not for me.

Lol, and Iím sure there is an Audi or AMG thatís truer to the ďpurposeĒ?

These are pretty fun cars. Itís hard for me to imagine that someone really loved the E46 M3 in even remotely near stock form but would have no interest in the M2

They only allow themselves interest in 2 cars.
E46 m3 (manual, coupe, cal mods) and Gt3/rs but not really that ***** ass PDK vers

Everything else inferior. Not at all suitable for a "tru enthusiast".

It's basically the same as the E36 owners who called the E46 an ugly bloated pig that drives like shit when it came out.

FWIW, I put a deposit down on a M2 Competition a while back. Not 100% sure yet if I will go through with it, but it all looks and sounds promising. I still like the e46 M3 better looks wise, and because of N/A engine and hydraulic steering. However, I'm ready for something different and a bit more power and most of all torque. My main motivation is to get more of a dual purpose car. My current e46 M3 is mainly a garage queen/HPDE toy and just doesn't get enough use.

If I pull the trigger, then the e46 M3 will be for sale soon.....hint hint. Very well sorted and maintained car with ~44k miles.

Never said it is a bad car, just that so long as I can continue driving my E46 M3 and E90 M3, I only see these new M's as downgrades. This is a huge first world problem obviously as I am talking about how I have zero interest in a fun sporty new car that is very nice in a vacuum.

But I currently have the ability to be okay driving out of warranty cars and some may be less comfortable doing so. I do see the value in a current gen M2/M3/M4 if I were in a different situation.

Audi or AMG thatís truer to the ďpurposeĒ of being an E46 M3? I guess not obviously since they aren't trying to make such a car. If you are saying truer to their history, or sports cars in general, I would say both are much more so currently than BMW.

You may have me here in all seriousness. PDK I am sort of converted for the really fast stuff...

However I love the american beasts, while many only allow themselves interest in luxury foreign brands.

All good things to me. I really like the M2.

Came across this:

And it reminded me of my old M3.

I imagine you as the kid in HS who thinks his intelligence is what intimidates all the girls away.

Loves to draw attention, yet so easily triggered. Never change cupcake.

And for the record it still scares them off.
