I love a good penske truck, but only the LTW version. 26' is one of the most balanced chassis out there...

I had a Ford Edge Eco Sport. Not too bad. Nice steering. Horrible throttle response and very weedy engine and power. Nice interior.
6/10 The throttle response on pretty much any modern turbo, automatic, 4 cylinder is just atrocious. and if they have eco sport or sky active in their names, even worse. Yeah, it gets great gas mileage, you know why?? because they have designed it so that the throttle never actually does anything unless you practically stand on it. The contrast to my Miata, and even my not very old former E90 328i is staggering.

Penske truck: Air seat was awesome, but did grow uncomfortable after 20 hours. Lots of power in the flats, none on hills. That 35mph climb over all dozen passes between california and wyoming was breathtaking. Steering response was ok, not as numb as all these electric steering cars, but the 5 turns lock to lock was a little tedious when making turns on city streets. Visibility was surprisingly good when mirrors were aimed correctly. Bluetooth stereo only worked for phone calls, no audio streaming, so I'm subtracting 2 points for that. Overall 6/10, would consider for bootycalls.
Impala: steering was better in the Penske. handling, again the Penske felt more planted. Impala had a tendency to excessively float after larger bumps at highway speeds. It had excellent power for the V6, decent acceleration for a rental car and excellent fuel economy for a full size, we had 36mpg over 2000 miles and 5,000,000 feet of elevation change. Transmission was worse than the steering, it never knew what gear it should be in or when. Although the seats weren't on air suspension like the penske, they were still decent for long trips. I have yet to find a front seat that's comfortable to sleep in without getting a sore neck, and the Impala is not the exception. Stereo was decent, bluetooth actually worked, so bonus 2 points there. Overall, 7/10, slightly ahead of Penske just because of functional bluetooth.
