That doesn't sound right. All car batteries, if in good health, give out 12v-14v. Maybe the battery was low or something, but running a mini/csl battery is not a problem. Csls aren't having issues with their fuel pumps & battery are they?

Had the same symptoms. It was my battery on its way out. I was at the point where if i didn’t trickle charge, car wouldn’t start after sitting for 2-3 days. I tested fine for parasitic draw and voltage showed 12.6-12.8v when i switched it out.

No problems starting on first crank after the new battery.
