I know, I ran ZCP’s for years. The guy I quoted was talking about stock 18’s if you look at the person he quoted.

ZCP paint process is also similar to shadow chrome. Black base coat and multiple light silver coatings. Shadow chrome requires less silver passes for darker finish.

Is the ZCP finish the same as BBS’ Diamond Silver? My CHs could use a refinish

It's called hypersilver.

I'm very picky and Crown Custom's nailed it. I did ask "an enthusiast amount of questions" before moving forward and the shop owner called me. He said they do style 67 all the time.

They nailed it too. Both my M3s are sitting on wheels refreshed by Crown Customs.

E46 wheels (finished in late 2019):

- inner barrels finished in black and some clear coat was a nice touch on the shadow grey finish

E9x ZCPs (these were done two years ago in late 2017):

- sorry, I didn't take dedicated photos back then.

The OEM 18’s look amazing.

Maybe it’s the lighting, but the E92 ZCPs finish has less of a shine, more of a regular “silver” look than the OE ZCP finish on the E46.

Are they different finishes from factory?

Just my $.02... Being based in Chicago, I've seen ZCPs recently posted on CL (assuming this thread is related) but the pics showing they could use refinishing gave me concern of being satisfied with the refinishing "challenge" and additional cost. Knowing that I probably won't get the result of CSL/ZCP silver OE finish that I want, I went the guaranteed route of the OE CSL group buy going on. If you are in need of tires and cool with the Firestone Indy 500s and the varied tire ages that come with em, then that could tip the decision and hope for the best refinish result you can find. It sucks that BMW makes it difficult to get the OE results when having to refinish their wheels. Good luck in your quest!
