Default NEW! CSL MAP Sensor...BMW changed supplier

Hi everyone,

So I've heard from BMW that they are finding a new supplier to make the CSL MAP sensor...looks like Bosch won't be making them anymore

I ordered my MAP sensor 4 months ago, it was expected to be delivered in mid June but this is the latest update (with no new delivery date)

anyone can confirm this as well?

Glad to hear they are planning on still making them. I want to to a full CSL conversation with an OE map and air rail and flap etc. i was really bummed when I heard they're no longer available.

Hey all,

To my surprise, I just received the new CSL MAP Sensor. I had my order since March 2017 and in June the latest update was that BMW was changing suppliers and everything was still TBA.

I have checked on realoem and the map sensor has been updated with a new part no. 12528091765

here are pictures of the map sensor and what came with it.

Interesting. Looks like it's this sensor with a harness adapter and maybe a thicker o-ring:

Once installed, I will post some pics but not sure about when. While I was waiting for this part, my mechanic managed to find the old CSL Map Sensor for me and currently he's doing the full CSL Airbox conversion for me. Tomorrow Im going to have a chat with him and see if its finished with the entire process (including the tuning). the above is not the factor for when, the issue is that I reside in Abu Dhabi while my car is in Beirut, so I will have to send him the new map sensor.

I guess the best thing to do is install the old OE map sensor, get my car working to its optimum potential and then possibly replace the map sensor with this new one and see if there is a difference??

what do you guys think I should do?

Both sensors will probably perform the same. Seems like Bosch just didn't feel like producing a low volume sensor, so they pulled something off the shelf that can fit the CSL rail. If it were me I'd stick with the old sensor for cosmetics alone if you already have one

Honestly now that the OE sensor isn't purpose built, for future retrofits I'd probably just go with something like the TTFS rail or just T-off an existing vacuum connection and work from there.
