Also Mike (MisterEM), since you are reading this, check your Instagram messages. Looks like banging on AT Power's door worked. Should be able to get you those shaftless throttle-bodies in the next couple of weeks.

Also, if you don't know, MisterEM very well might have the fastest NA S54 on the street. What was it, 390ish WHP!? With big-boy high-lift cams that BMW said wouldn't work with VANOS (14.5mm and 14.0mm lift 292/284 cams) -- which it did (does).
Oh really?!! I have been pestering the poor fellow who responds to their Facebook messages for months. Last I heared it was undergoing testing in the UK.

Maybe a GB for these babies?

Seriously his engine build is serious life goals. I want to see if he got it to 400!

Thatís why we should try get Leighton to start one of his GB. I want these but not at full price. Unless they have come down some.

Lol, I kind of regret mentioning this on the forum as I wasn't expecting my comment to derail this thread. But yes, I am already in talks with AT Power, as per MisterEM's request. Before we get too excited, lets see how they perform first. They are almost ready to be released from what I was told. They are still sorting a few things out before they make these available to the public for our car. As it's looking, if it works out, MisterEM will be able to provide dyno data comparing this new 'shaftless' design against the stock throttle bodies, Dinan Throttle Bodies, and VAC throttle bodies. Let's see how those results look. If the data looks favorable and the price is right to justify the gains, then let's get excited for a planned Group-Buy. I think right now it's a bit early to tell how well they will function compared to the current options on the market. The design looks awesome though, and on paper they look very promising. If MisterEM is excited about testing them, I think they at the very least, deserve a closer look.

So...MisterEM, message me back!

What are you prepared to spend for these? I only see extremely marginal gains (losses or power staying the same) here.

Don’t know if it is realistic from what they quoted months ago but I honestly would be pretty happy if they came down to around ~2K in price. So more than new Dinans. However that is to be expected since these are totally custom made. While the others are remanufactered stock pieces. Significantly above that price then then I would really have weigh out the cost vs. benefits. Hopefully if we have the economy of scale on our side the price will go down. Don’t know how many of these they thought they would sell when they forecasted MSRP.

If the power is the same as Dinan and there no increase in part throttle responsiveness then yeah it wouldn’t make sense to get them. If they lose power then yeah no way. I’m so excited since I want to try to build something like Mister Em in the future so it’s literally the perfect test for my future build. If he picks up some power I’ll be stoked.
