i'd estimate your same car would weigh in 20-30 lbs 'lighter' now... so careful with what you do on ballast.
I'm not surprised. It seemed like something was off because we had weighed it in at the target weight at SCR only about two weeks prior. Either way I think the car is still probably about 50lbs overweight. I sure could have used that extra 5 hp against you on the straights though!!

Chevelle,

For ballast I'm running thin rectangular steel plates that bolt directly to the passenger seat area. They are easily removable so if I wanted to I could weigh the car and then remove plates as needed.

amazing build bud
Perfectly executed in your build and modifications.
Maybe one day when I have the $$$ and balls, I'll follow suit. Meanwhile, this is great inspiration

If it ain't lightweight, it ain't the right weight.

Awesome. Definitely post vids when you can!

What is your weight distribution looking like? And your alignment specs?

Yes, you can weigh your car at tech/impound any time.
often they are setup on Friday before the race weekend and all day Sat and Sun.

So its been a while since I have posted. Unfortunately work has me tied up most weekends. Only made it to one race this past year.

Here are some pictures of the car on track at a BMWCCA event last year at Road Atlanta…..

As for plans for the car this winter:

Big items:
-Performance diff (possibly with external diff cooling system)
-1-2 more sets of wheels

Little items:
-BW carbon headlight blanks
-Carbon fiber center console blank. (to replace my plastic one)
-Rear window supports. (the lexan flexes and shakes a lot at speed)
-Learn to use AiM MXL better for data analysis.

Have fun with the upgrades, and good luck next season... hope you can get out there a bit more and enjoy your car.

Did you move to atlanta area?

I drove road atlanta recently; what a great track...

My home track is road america and I really enjoyed driving this track as it had some similarities. The esses were more aggressive than I had envisioned though compared to VIR. Will be back in 2014 for an event or two.

Yeah moved to atlanta last year. Loving Road Atlanta. I hope to make it up to VIR this year for a race or two. Road America would be awesome too.
