Default Making the cup holder large enough for modern phones

Greetings,

A few years back I bought an iPhone 6 and returned it a few days later because it was just too big. One of the problems was that it didnít fit in the cup holder of my M3.

Fast forward a number of years and I replaced my iPhone SE with an XS. I like the phone, a lot, but I wish it fit better. It would be awesome if I could extend the cup holder up about an inch to make it hold my phone well enough that it doesnít fly out if I slam on the brakes, like it did yesterday...

Has anyone done this? I donít want some big ugly monstrosity, I just need a little more height to hold the phone better since itís too big to sit all the way down in the bottom.

I considered cutting slots into the cup holder so the phone could slide to the bottom, but donít like destructive mods if I can help it.

Joel

Put it in your map pocket.

There are literally thousands of solutions for this. Why does it have to be in the cup holder?

My 7 fits perfectly on top of the Euro storage tray. Even the fillet edges of the phone match the console.

Solution: delete the useless cupholders.

Just get a $15 phone mount and put it in your vent.

^ This. So much cleaner looking and useful without the US cupholder addon.

Could you provide more details to the Euro storage tray for the E36? Pics?

They all fit fine next to the ebrake handle. The leather boot keeps it from sliding around, and if you're feeling adventurous you can even run a charger/aux cable underneath to terminate right there - and it stays cleanly out of sight when not in use.
