This starts to get into the whole discussion about whether to go with: Bilstein, Koni, coilovers, etc. I went with Bilstein as I don’t mind a little harsher dampening for this daily driver.

Did you pull that plastic thingy? There is a bunch of dust and dirt that gets trapped under it as well. Good job.

Arg. I really should pull that and clean there too. Good call. It was getting late and I was getting lazy. No excuse. I’ll clean under the “plastic thingy” tonight.

Captain’s log: rule #1: In a restoration project something that seems easy, often is not.

This log exemplified when cleaning rear tail light area and a corner of the tail light broke off in the struggle to pull off a 21 year old tail light stuck by dirt.

Broken light:

Off to scrap yard or eBay for a new right side tail light. Arg.

Gorilla glue. Doesn't seem like it is affecting the light lens or reflector.
Otherwise you'll need both - they will never look the same.

Captains log: Today I decided to listen to the wise members of this forum. Part glued and looking good. Sorry I can be anal retentive and like things to be perfect. Thanks for calming me down.

I'll rile you up again. Replace it

I think you'll fit in well here if your first order of business is to clean behind the tail lights
