Of course you can. It's called analyzing appreciation vs depreciation or no change.

I'm not sure how what you paid for your m3 nearly a decade ago is relevant to this thread but ok.

Ok last bid on the 2002 m3 was up 8k from a new user on Bat with 2 days to go. Sort of suscpious - who does that on a auction? Reminds me of the early ebay days when dealers mark up their own auctions.

Shady indeed. Can't believe a prefacelift M3 sold for that much the first time, let alone a second time.

I would think the big housing crash in late 2008 that tanked the economy had something to do with it as well? Cheap good M3's were dime a dozen back then, I remember seeing plenty low mileage ZCP's in the low to mid 20s.

Just to play devils advocate, itís incredibly common for ďnewĒ BaT accounts to come into some late bidding. Guys sees a car to finally push them over the edge and they register... canít say that the strategy of an 8k bid bump is tactful.. but Iíve seen weirder there.

What you say is true but there was 2 full days left when the 8k bid happens. U donít put up a nukeíem bid so early in the game unless youíre stupid or youíre gaming the auction,
