It’s pretty embarrassing. Sucks that I had to go back through it, but I also installed a Fidanza flywheel and Revshift mounts. Replaced the condenser and seized auxiliary fan.

I may have also did the steering rack in. It was dripping fluid, possibly from all the stress of removal / install of the coupler.

Default 500k+ Mile E36 M3

Drove it a bit this morning and it was not what I expected. Pulled codes and there is a P0340 pending. Edit: could not wait til tomorrow morning. Took the car for a bath (what’s an auto wash going to do to 500k mike paint? ) stopped at the O’reilly on the way and bought the only cam sensor they had in stock “import direct”, pulled the old one off in the parking lot and sure enough the insulation was gone.

Cleared the fault and it now feels very good down low.

Still searches when coming to a stop, and the Fidanza flywheel chatters as expected.

Installed an ACT sprung clutch disc yesterday. Noise is much more tolerable.

Renewed the 500k mile fuel pump.

The alternator was whining as well. So that was replaced with a unit sourced from world pac.

Just a small update.

A used ZHP rack was installed, eliminated the mechanical fan and mounted a Spal 16” fan, wired to the low temp and a manual switch inside.

Replaced the weathered /failing headlamp housings and corners.

Re-torqued the head at 1k miles. It didn’t appear to be necessary as it was still at spec.

Now just waiting on a package from RK-Tunes.

What would have necessitated the multiple replacements of the driveshaft earlier in the cars life?
