CarPlay on the Avin is freaking great. Canít wait till it supports Waze this September! Hopefully at some point someone will make a wireless CarPlay dongle.

I've been reading that a lot of people are having problems with a constant humming and that the audio quality isn't nearly as good as the Avant 2 or even the stock Harmon Kardon unit were. I'm curious to hear your experience with yours.

No humming on mine for sure.

Never used a avin2, so can’t compare to that. Sounds better than the HK in my M3 wagon, but haven’t had HK in my M3 for years. But, even that isn't fair as I have aftermarket speakers (that I got because they were light) in the M3, and stock HK speakers in the wagon.

I'm also not using the pre outs on the Avin, so my situation is different than many-- my speakers are plugged directly into the Avin and using its internal amplifier.

So, in short... I have no buzzing and am completely happy with the sound quality. But, my situation is different that any normal setup.

i ordered the avant 3 like 6 weeks ago and then avin emailed me and said there was a version 2.0 coming out jun 13 and if i wanted to wait for that and i said ok. apparently they improved the texas instruments internal chip that improves the sound quality. I'm going to be installing mine this weekend but my car is also different cause my whole stereo is going in (aka aftermarket amp, speakers, wickedcas subbox etc).
