Default SMG Issue - jerky shifting and no fault codes

Just replace the motor and installed a used pressure plate & clutch. Car shifted fine before the motor went. Car shifted fine for 100 miles or so after the motor was swapped.

Then the car started to have trouble shifting into R-1-2-3. Shifts fine into 4-5-6. It stalls or is jerky on take off.

INPA shows code 51 which is the trunk pin (known fault with the car).

Lifting when it shifts helps a little. If you stay on the throttle you can get the SMG cog to light up and throw code 48.

The salmon relay was replaced. Pump builds pressure up to 85 bar.

I think it’s the detent springs. Just wanted to hear what other think before I go that route.

It feels like a gear position sensor to me

I thought that too but wouldn’t that throw a code?

Don't have experience with your issue, but just in case you don't already have the "2002 System Diagnosis" manual, this might help you figure it out:

did you reteach adaptations via inpa, since you have a new clutch?
was the compression springs changed?
how old is the gear position sensor?

my compression springs failed at 135k miles
and my GPS is going bad as well, it doesn't like shifting 1>2>3
under moderate load(4k-6k rpm).

I would think it would but worth while checking it...maybe it won't. I have had the compression spring issue when it happened the gears were engaging late so when I was shifting from 1 to 2 the 2nd gear engagement was not happening instantly. I still think it is a gps issue

bigjae1976, can you explain the trunk pin (known fault with the car) comment for me? My car will sometimes refuse to shift into "0" so I can start the engine. When that happens, I open and shut the trunk, and everything is fine!
Thanks.
