However, the CSL model has not been confirmed for other countries outside the UK at the moment so we are still in a holding pattern until the powers that be at BMW MSport release further details.

The new E93 might have the seal design of the Z4 to fix the water leak issues that plague the E93

Well....

the Rumor Mill is once again FIRED up with BMW now releasing the GTS Version of the E92M3.
Could this now mean that BMW will fire off a few other special models to keep the numbers ticking over and keeping the likes of Mercedes and AUDI at bay.
This may rekindle the hopes of a full production CSL being released but as we all know, only time will tell.
To be honest, it is about time they put a decent engine in the E92 with the 4.4L.
There was talk prior to the release of the E9X that the engine to be used would be the 4.4L.
I have to say, Im disappointed with only a 36BHP upgrade from the 4.0L.
This can only mean.... there may be more to come.

I would seriously doubt it. If talk of 25 units per year and none in the US are true (and $100k+ if it does come here), this is a halo car. Unlike Porsche (GT3RS) and Ferrari, BMW seems to keep its best models from the US, their largest market. This is nothing more than a factory tuner, which you could replicate, except for the displacement increase (RDSport 4.8L anyone?) quite easily.

I think we will see a E92 refresh next spring, and a "special addition" a year or two later, and that's about it.

Well its Official....

BMW MSport Division have released further detail on the M3 Competition.
For mine, I think they have kept this upgrade very much in line with the E46 Competition and really haven't gone that extra step at all.
The extra carbon bits, the lowered suspension and try hard looking ZCP/CSL rims and bootlid come off just a little try hard and cheap.
You are really going to have to be a car-spotter to see where PPL have laid down that extra 10+K for this pack.
Anyways, here are the details....

BMW has released further information and photos about the 2011 M3 Competition Package.

Available this spring, the Competition Package is offered on the M3 Coupe and the M3 Sedan. It features a lowered suspension (ride height is reduced 10mm), light alloy wheels, a specially developed 'sport' mode (part of the Electronic Damping Control), and a revised stability control program. Options include carbon fiber front apron flaps and a carbon fiber rear spoiler.

Besides the Competition Package, BMW also announced all 2011 M3s (Sedan, Coupe, and Convertible) will feature an engine stop/start function. Thanks to this system, average fuel consumption will be reduced by 8% while C02 emissions are cut by 24 g/km. According to BMW, the M3 Coupe and M3 Sedan will achieve an average fuel consumption of 11.2 l/100km (21 mpg US) with the optional 7-speed M dual clutch transmission - manual models consume 12.4 l/100km (19 mpg US). On the other hand, the M3 Convertible has an average fuel consumption of 11.5 l/100km (20.4 mpg US), M dual clutch transmission with Drivelogic, and 12.7 l/100km (18.5 mpg US) with 6-speed manual transmission.

I brought that up on another forum and almost got . It's NOT coming to the US. So which one is true???

At any rate, start/stop would be a deal-breaker to me if it couldn't be permanently disabled (in other words, only activated by a switch), especially with a manual, so don't care for that at all. But crap like that is the only way to keep big/thirsty engines alive... while they last.
