whenever i have my car up, i always do a quick check on the subframe points that you can see which should be common practice for anyone owning a e46m3.
yeah, agreed. I checked out my rear end two nights ago.

That's probably a little excessive.

Unless you're driving in some harsh conditions, that's extremely excessive. How long have you been doing oil changes at 3K intervals?

here is what I don't get... you send them your oil, they look it over, charge you and then tell you that you can go longer between changes? If you had oil related problems (bad test results) what can you do with that info other than to change out the oil?

the blurb that i pasted in the original post is just part of the report. in addition to that they include measures of metal particles and other foreign substances like coolant, etc etc.

the oil analysis is a general indication of the health of the engine. a poor oil analysis should of course lead to earlier oil changes, in addition to also possibly lead you to other areas to fix (ie finding coolant in your oil would lead you to xyz to fix).

See my post above. At 10k miles my oil was done. All you can do at that point is change it and test it again at an earlier mileage next time. I was very surprised to find a problem at 10k, so I will be monitoring it very closely from here forward.

you haven't done the sub frame reinforcement have you ?
there is no correlation here, chris's car has less than 10 track days on it and he doesn't have a failure...i have less than 10 track days but probably around 100 autocross days with no failure...some people have a failure with 0 track days and stock suspension
