So, if the M2 is practical enough for your needs, 100% M2.
My E46 M3 is perfect size for daily and even the occasional midweek Costco run. Only reason I stopped daily driving it is that I am afraid of all the idiot drivers not paying attention nowadays and getting hit and totaled.

If I was to daily a newer M car I wouldn’t be so afraid of it getting rear ended and totaled since ehh ....insurance will pay and I can get another one fairly easy.

If my E46 was to get rear ended....you guys will see on the 10 o’clock news due to the beatdown I would give.

Barring the lack of the latest and greatest technology, I don't see a reason not to.
Clutching in and out constantly in traffic isn't all that fun. And not to mention the increased probability of getting rear-ended which would = totaled. No thanks to dailying the M3 anymore.

I’m going the opposite way of a lot if you. This spring I’m moving to an area where every drive is a dynamic one, so the e46 M3 makes sense as a daily again

I'll still be in SE PA, just a rolling country side, no local police department (staties called in when needed) part of the state.

Recent drive I did in the general area we're looking in:

Plan on dailying it through the winter? I now live in California where there's no snow and I miss driving the M3 around Colorado in the winter. It was surprisingly capable and incredibly fun.

M3 wagon sees winter use. Coupe is hidden from the salt.

They're only expensive if you don't drive them
What do you drive now?

Idk how daily driving an old bmw is cheaper if driven more can only imagine what a cheap e46 w/ high mileage would look and feel like nowadays

For convertible M4 $$ I'd be looking for one of these. Unless you need a back seat.
