Default Hot Start Issues

Hey Guys,

Past 2-3 weeks I have been experiencing a strange issue.... My day typically unfolds like so:

Early morning start - flawless

Drive 20-30 minutes to work - flawless

Come back out for lunch at noon- 50% chance it doesn't turn over
-The radio works, the lights work, just no noise - no starter nothing
-Turn the key 4-5 even 10 times it will finally turn over.

Drive to and from work- 50% chance it turns back on on first turn after a short drive.

Jump in car, while in shade after work- 75% chance it turns over on first go.

Drive home 20-30 minutes- flawless

If parked in the shade it is typically a non-factor, but even after short drives and parked to sit for 20-30 minutes it will act up. So what could be the cause of this? I have no codes, no lights, NADA and only seems to happen in the heat. My Key FOBs both have started losing distance to unlock so that may be the problem? I don't feel like throwing $200 at a key fob to find out it was fine all along....

Yes. Its basically the starter solinoid. Gets old and tolerances become out of spec when hot. When cold all was well. It started to gradually get worse, got a new starter and back to busines

I'm experiencing this as well. I've read several threads and they all point to replacing the starter as the solution. Ordering mine from ECS now.

It looks like I will be grabbing one from FCP Euro for $179 - Bosch Unit. $100 core charge. Lifetime warranty.

Reading up on DIYs as we speak, it looks hard but the DIY's say its easy....

**Thanks Hassan!!**

I had a similar situation whenever it's cold the car doesn't turn. I thought something with the fuel because the starter doesn't make any clicking noise. The other night it took a second extra to start. So I guess I will change the starter soon
