Default empty threaded hole source of oil leak?

I was getting under the car to change my rod bearings (I have a knock) and when I pulled off the plastic skid plate thing I was surprised by a massive oil leak. The source seems to be this empty threaded hole (pictured). I have no idea what is supposed to be here. I'm really just learning how to work on my car so any advice is appreciated

That's a lot of oil and given that your PS line is caked in it, it could be the high pressure VANOS line that threads into the accumulator in the pic.

How bad is the knock you speak of? How many miles on the engine?

Sway bar and ps lines were both caked and dripping. The engine has 147kms on it and the knock had just started a block away from home and was pretty bad. I posted about it a few days ago with a video link (here it is:
).
