No, the part that breaks is Vanos gearbox, outlet (#11367832031).

BTW, what's the point of this thread anyway? Wouldn't you also want to know about people who checked their hub and found it to be broken?

I feel like there are PLENTY of those around, to the point where you would think literally almost every M has this issue. It's refreshing to see some high mileage M's that are working fine mechanically and haven't had this failure. When I was getting my M I found this forum helpful, but I also found that I had this paranoia of driving my car after reading VANOS failure threads. While they are very informative and good to keep you in the know of potential issues, sometimes it can fool you and seriously cause some ulcers and make you lose sleep at night! Lol. I like this thread

Valve adjustment a month ago. Bolts and tabs appeared to be intact at 88k miles. Build date of 11/01

Just did a valve adjustment on the race car last week and everything was fine.
60K miles (last 6K on the track). Build date: 10/01

Those look like intake and exhaust hubs to me on the right
