I used the e9X LEDs. Should never have to worry about a bulb going out, OE build quality, cheap

true, but alot of folks don't have oem csl bootlid. the replica ones are weak and will break. its always best to compress the spring first, then slide in the other side.

I have an OEM csl trunk and OEM led license plate lights and also had to file a small bit to make them fit.

the e39 lights/led lights from ebay/e90 lights were intended for metal trunks. these metal trunks have thinner material then the composite CSL bootlid. perhaps this is the reason why these lights have a harder time to fit. another option is to take a dremel disc and widen contact area where the light meets the opening of the light. this will make it easier to fit as the spring is compressed. widening the opening is also another option.
